The given pie charts depict the proportion of family speding in six different categories in a region from 1950 to 2010.
Overall, the significant cost of household in the two given period was spent on housing and food. In 1950, it is evident that expenses for health care, transportation, education and other were relatively less noticeable while in 2010, the housing expenditure seemed to be distributed in a balanced way.
Looking at the first data set, the figure for expenditure on housing accounted for 72.1% in 1950 which was the highest percentage while this proportion fell by 50% from 72.1% to 22% in 2010. By the contrary, this shows a reverse trend on the money spent on food which was reported a rate to slightly grow to 34% in 2010.
In 1950, spending on areas namely healthcare, education and transportation made up 2.4%, 6.6% and 3.3% respectively. This proportion of expenditure for healthcare and transportation rose to 4.5% and 14% while that for education experienced a minimal drop of 3%.
