The line charts given illustrate the information regarding the number of international and national students enrolling in Australian university in a decade.
Overall, there was an upward trend in the total of overseas and local students. Also, the figure of first-year of international students increased significantly during the period. In addition, the commencing number of local students fluctuated in the meantime.
In the first reported year, the total number of the international student was 20,000, doubling in every four years, finishing at approximately 4 times higher that of the first figure in 2010. Meanwhile, 10,000 international students enrolled in the university in 2000, increasing two times higher in the first 6 years, and finishing the period just above 40,000.
Regarding the local students, 400 thousand students studied at the university in 2001, followed by a substantial grow between 2002 and 2007, before levelling off at around 600 thousand from 2008 to 2010. In contrast, the figure for first-year students commenced just below half that of the total number, rising by approximately 30,000 in 2002 and remained unchanged until the end of the period.
