The graph demonstrates the interests of tourists in four different destinations in Brighton, England. In general, Pavilion and Pier shows the increase in the number of visitors while fewer people choose Art Gallery and Festival as their tours’ destinations.
In 1980, Pier was the least visited attraction with only 10% of visitors. The figure started to increase to about 15% in the next five years but then quickly fell to less than 10% in the year of 1990. Despite of some fluctuations, the proportion of visitors to Pier gradually rose to around 21% within 20-year period, which was higher than that of Art Gallery. Pavilion, started with about 24%, sharply climbed to the highest point of the whole graph in 1995 with nearly 48% of visiting tourists. However, it then drastically decreased to nearly 31% the next 15 years but still remained the most attracted destination.
Festival was the most visited attraction in 1980, then it slowly fell to 28% in 1985. By contrast, number of people came to Art Gallery rose tremendously to its highest proportion, about 38%, within the same period. However, in the next 25-year period, both graphs showed the decrease in the proportion of tourist. While slight increase from 1995 to 2010 helped Festival reach 28% of visitors, Art Gallery dropped to 8%, the lowest percentage of tourists despite a small increase in 1995.
