Estimate percentage of car trips by purpose and gender of driver, 2005
The bar chart illustrates the proportion of males and females use their cars for eight different goals in the 2005 year.
Looking at the graph, it is immediately obvious that both genders commuting to work by car was very much high compared to the other items. Additionally, recreation, bank, running errands and visiting town were the reasons shown the difference between the percentages of girls and boy doing these activities.
In 2015, just over 50% of men travelled to work by car, which was about 13% higher than that of their counterparts for the same intention. By contrast, there was slightly more female than male went on car trips for shopping, with around 17% and 10% respectively. Similarly, the rate of lady and gentleman driving to courses were fairly comparable, at 8% and 12% sequentially.
The four remaining purposes displayed sharply difference in the proportion of each gender use their automobile. The rate of men who made car trips to visit town, at 9%, for recreation, at 11% and these numbers nearly three times more than that of women per aim. While cars were used by roughly 8% to 10% of girls for going to the bank, running errands, and visiting friend, approximately from 3% to 4% of boys drove a car for the same purposes.
