The bar chart below shows the percentage of government spending on roads and transport in 4 countries in the years 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005.
The bar chart compares four different nations, namely Italia, Portugal, the UK, the USA, in terms of the proportion of government expenditure on road and transport every five years between 1990 and 2005.
Looking at the graph, it is immediately obvious that three of the four countries experienced a decrease in the amount of money spent on streets and transportation in which Portugal dropped the most, the opposite was true for the USA.
In 1990, Portugal was the most country spending expended on route and transport at more than 27%, followed by Italia about 22% and the UK around 10%. In 1995, all three areas continued to reduce the expense by among 1-3%. However, while the quantity of cash disbursing roads and transportation in Portugal went down approximately 23%, the other two countries increased to nearly 24% in Italia and about 12% in the UK but that also was the only growth. In the last year of the survey, the number of money spending on transport infrastructure in Portugal, Italia and the UK fell down 20%, almost 19% and around 8%, respectively.
Regarding the USA, the expenses related to the construction of transport facilities decreased slightly to 10% in 1995 before the figures rose half to 15% in 2005.
