The chart below shows the price in Euros of 800 grams of four types of bread in one European country from 2001 to 2006
The line chart illustrates the cost of 800 grams of four different kinds of bread in a particular European nation over five consecutive years, starting from 2001.
Looking at the graph, it is immediately obvious that the prices of Brown, White and Rye bread increased, while the value of Wholegrain bread witnessed a wild fluctuation over the period shown. Additionally, the figure for Brown bread experienced the biggest change.
On the first year of the period, residents in this country had to pay 0.8 euros to own 800 grams of Wholegrain Bread and this was the most expensive bread, while the other types only cost 0.6 euros each. In 2002, the price of Rye bread decreased slightly to 0.5 euros for every 800 grams, the opposite was true for Brown, White and Wholegrain bread, at 1.5 euros, 1 euro and 1.8 euros respectively.
From 2002 to 2005, the value of Wholegrain bread saw a terrible dip hit the lowest point of 0.7 euros in 2004 and came back to the original price in the next year. By contrast, the figures for Brown and White bread both rose to 1.6 euros and 1.3 euros sequentially, although the cost of Brown bread fell to 1.4 euros in 2004. Besides, the price of Rye bread also climbed but not much, at 0.7 euros in 2005.
