You have seen an advertisement in an English newspaper for a job working in the City Museum shop during the holidays. You decide to apply for the job.
Write a letter to the director of the Museum. In your letter,
• introduce yourself
• explain what experience and special skills you have
• explain why you are interested in the job
Dear sir,
I am writing this to apply for a job in the City Museum shop during my vacation time. I came to notice about this opportunity today morning, while going through an English newspaper. As this job advertisement suits my capability and skills thought to apply for this position.
I am Ria, my age is 22 and completed my Master's in History department. During my educational period I have scored distinction in all my semesters. Also, I have done my thesis on ancient monuments during my master’s education. In my perception, practical knowledge is equally important along with the academic studies. Therefore, I have also given a brief presentation to my lecturers after completing my research and got my appraisals from them for the way I have gathered the information and the way of explaining it to them.
Basically, I am so much interested to know about our history in detail even if it is about clothing, accessories, the way of living and so on.
Even with respect to the interest of sharing my knowledge to others, I felt excited to apply for this job. It would be appreciated if you could consider me for this post.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanking you.
Yours faithfully,
Abc.
