At first glance, while the data of total marriages, the second marriages and divorces tended to rise considerably between 1975 and 2000, there was a signigicant data in the figure of the first married people.
On average, total marriages contributed roughly 500 thousand people, the highest detail, to the whole number of people in the UK; whereas, the amount of people being divorced stood at the lowest point among the four types of citizens, at just under 100 thousand.
Looking at the line graph in more detail, we can see that there was a substantial increase in the figure for total married adults, which accounted for approximately 110 thousand from 1975 to 2000. Likewise, after a gradual upturn throughout this period of time, the second marriages and divorces had the same figure, at nearly 250 thousand. By contrast, the number of the first married adults dipped moderately by about 20 thousand from 1975 to 2000.
