the bar chart
The bar chart gives information about the number of students in each primary and lower secondary class in South Korea, Japan, UK, Mexico, Denmark and Iceland in comparison to the average number of the world in 2006.
It is noticeable that the average numbers of students per class around the world were in the middle of the scale, higher than Denmark, Iceland but way lower than the two Asian countries in the chart.
South Korea and Japan are the two Asian countries, which had the highest figures for class size, at over 34 students and around 29 to 34 students per class in both school levels respectively. While the world only had just over 25 to below 30 pupils each class.
Turning to the remaining countries, with the average figure for the world class size, Denmark and Iceland stood way below at just around 20 to 23 students each classroom.
In addition, UK and Mexico had a different pattern than the others. In UK, the number of students per class in primary school was equal to the world but the remaining one was only half of the world average. And Mexico had more students than the world average in lower secondary.
