The chart shows the percentage of people who ate five portions of fruit and vegetables per day in the UK from 2001 to 2008.
The given bar-chart compares the proportional trend of fruit and vegetable intake per day based on a survey done on men, women, and children in the UK over a period of 8 years from 2001 to 2008.
Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that women led the list, while after facing a stagnant period between the first few years, the consumption rate of men and children rose significantly at the same pace by the end of the period.
According to the given illustration, in 2001, more than 20% of women were consuming the right portion. Thereafter, with the passing time, the rate kept on rising dramatically until it doubled to acquire peak value in 2006. However, with a marginal decline of 10%, the rate experienced a drop to touch 30% during the last two years.
On the other hand, portraying a similar pattern, men and children possessed a constant value to level off at 18% and 12% respectively between 2001 and 2003. Over time, a surge in the intake pushed the value higher by 10% in each case, which remained stable between 2006 and 2007. But, a slight dip slipped the value down by 3% in 2008(28% down to 25%). Although men and children paced up to increase healthy eating, women topped the overall pattern.
