The pie chart compares the proportion of workers in three different categories in town A and town B from 1960 to 2010.
Overall, it is evident that while the number of people working in manufacturing witnessed a significant increase, the opposite was true for the other two categories in both towns. It is notable that the highest quantity of workers in town A was in manufacturing whereas in town B that was in sales.
In 1960, there were about 29% people in town A working in manufacturing in comparison with only 8% in town B. Over 50 years of the period, these figures experienced a dramatic upward trend to 64% for the former and 24% for the latter.
Sales become the most common job in both town A and town B, accounting for 41% and 72% respectively. In the meantime, there were only 30% people working in services in town A and this figure was slightly smaller, standing at about 20% in town B. The year 2010 saw a substantial decrease of 21% and 18% in the number of people working as salesperson. Likewise, starting at 30% in 1960, the figure for people working in services in town A declined moderately to 16% while that for town B climbed of 21% at the end of the time survey.
