The bar chart illustrates the results of a survey conducted regarding the levels of employment amongst men and women in 6 different countries throughout a 10-year time period.
Overall, it becomes evident that the percentages of male and female employees in all countries have witnessed a dramatic increase from 1995 to 2005. However, the number of men occupied in 2010 remains relatively higher than the corresponding ratio of women working.
Looking at the graph in more detail, Iceland and Switzerland are the two countries with the highest rates of male employees in 2010 (close to 83% and nearly 78% respectively). The number of workers with respect to the remaining four countries (Australia, the UK, New Zealand, and the USA) during the same period is approximately the same at around 70%.
On the other hand, Switzerland, the UK, and the USA are the largest employers for women in both 1995 and 2005 (figures fluctuate from 60 to 68 percent in 2005) with Iceland, Australia, and New Zealand following.
