The table illustrates the amount of food consumed by the European weekly in 1992, 2002 and 2012.
Overall, a rise in the weight of vegetable, wheat, bean consumption was experienced during the reported time, while that of meet fluctuated and the figure for cheese remained stable after a slight increase.
In 1992, the weight of vegetable consumption was the highest, at 2140 grams while that of meet was 1148 grams, higher than the figure for wheat, which started at 837 grams. Bean consumption was 532 grams, fourfold higher than that of cheese which was only 113 grams.
In the next period, the proportion of vegetable consumed increased to 2190 grams and ended at the highest position compared to others, which was 2220 grams. In the meantime, bean consumption increased considerably to 590 grams while a moderate rise in the figure for wheat to 977 grams in 2012 was experienced. The weight of meat consumption fluctuated and ended at 1132 grams whereas that of cheese increased to 125 grams in 2002 and then remained stable till the end of the reported time.
