Overall, it can be seen that overgrazing and deforestation causes the majority of land degradation worldwide. Also we can see that Europe was the most affected region during the period.
To begin with, it can be seen that around 35% of worldwide land degradation is caused by over-grazing. Around 58% of land degradation is caused by deforestation and over-cultivation. Salinatoon accounted for only about 8 percent of the total land degradation.
Secondly, in 1990s Europe withnessed the biggest land degradation of about 22%, in which deforestation contributed the most(8.4%).In Oceania around 10.8% of land was lost due to over-grazing. Deforestation and over-cultivation contributed the least around 2%. North America had the lowest figures in which around 6% of land was lost by deforestation and over-cultivation. Only 1.5% of land was lost through over-grazing.
