The pie charts below show exports from various EU countries to India and China in 2000 and 2011
The pie charts give information about the proportions of exports from different countries in the EU to both India and China in the year 2005 and 2015.
Overall, Germany was generally considered the dominant exporter in both years. However, the United Kingdom exported a larger percentage of goods to India in 2005.
In India, the exports of the UK accounted for nearly a third (29%) compared to 25% of Belgium in 2005. In the following 10 years, these figures experienced a slight drop to 13% for the former and 20% for the latter. The value of exports from Germany increased noticeably from 15% to 25%, which made it the leading exporting market. There was a stable trend at only 2% in Finland, and the proportions for the remaining countries saw a slow rise.
In comparison, the majority of the exports to China came from Germany, which made up 38% in 2005 and then went up steadily by 10% ten years later. Austria and Belgium maintained their exports at 2% and 5% respectively. While there was a marginal increase of just 1% from Netherlands and Spain, the figures for the rest showed downward trends.
