The supplied line graph reveals the information regarding goods transported in United Kingdom between 1974 and 2000.

Overall, goods transported by road, water and pipeline experienced a upward trend over the period, while there was a fluctuation in using rail. Moreover, the majority of delivery way was using road, whereas using pipeline showed the less usage of transporting goods.

Looking specifically at the figure for using road, water and pipeline, they started at around 80 million tones, 39 million tones and 4 million tones respectively. Usage of road fluctuated to slightly below 80 million tones in around year 1994, and then surged to almost 98 million tones, finally increased gradually to peak at around 99 million tones, reaching the highest usage of among four types of delivery way. Likewise, using pipeline had a similar trend, and it reached a plateau at slightly over 22 million tones at around 1994 and then leveled off to the end of the period. In contrast, there was a almost 18 million tones rise in using water after 1978, and remained stable at around 58 million tones until 1998. After that, it skyrocketed to the high point at over 62 million tones at the end of the period.

With regard to usage of rail, it experienced a downward trend from the starting at slightly below 40 million tones to 28 million tones from 1974 to 1994. Finally, it soared to over 40 million tones till the end of the period.
