The bar chart shows men’s and women’s prize money at golf majors in 2010
The bar graph provides information about different amounts of prize money won by men and women in various contests in 2010.
Overall, it is seen clearly from the given bar chart that men earned more prize money than women in all golf majors, where both participated. There are two women competitions, while only one competition, where only men take part.
To starts with, in the ana and Evian championship majors, which were open only to women, winnings were below $500000. In contrast, prize money for the men-only master golf major was nearly two million dollars.
Furthermore, in three championships in which men and women both participated, the open champ, and the PGA, there was a stable similar trend. Men winnings were almost three times higher than women in two competitions, while in the US open they were double. Female prize money fell between $500000 and $800000, whereas men's winner earnings began at under two million dollars. The US open gave the highest number of winnings for both categories.
