You are organising a family party.
Write a letter to your friend inviting him/her to attend the party. In your letter:
- explain why you are organising a party
- say why you want your friend to come to the party
- describe what you are planning to do
Dear Sarah,
The following weekend, I'm gonna throw a going away party at my house, and you are invited. Let me first clear myself that I won't take no for an answer! You must be there!
A couple of days ago, my final IELTS test result arrived, und fortunately, I got a fantastic 8, which was exactly my dream score for emigrating to my my dream country, Canada. To make a longer story short, I have finally received my invitation and I'll soon leave the country for good. So, so I thought having a party would be great before flying to Toronto.
As you know, I've had such close relationships with you and all others of our classmates at university, you've always been kind and supported to me and leaving you guys without saying goodbye would kill me. I do hope you all can make it to the party.
Also, I'm sure will be spending an amazing time together. There will be a great DJ, lots of good food and drinks and more. There also is gonna be a fun competition which you will find out yourself; it's gonna be fantastic, I'm sure of it.
Keep in touch,
Jack
