The two line graphs illustarte how treatment affected the survival rates in female patients suffering from two types of cancer, namely alimentary tract cancer and lymphosarcoma.
Overall, the percentages of surviving in both cancers were all trending down and plateued from the third year to the firth year from diagnosis, except that the surviving rate of Lymphosarcoma in the treatment group was significantly declined to 0%.
With regards to Alimentary tract cancer, female patients with treatment survived in the first year from diagnosis accounted for about 75%, comparing to around 40% without treatment. Between the second and the fifth year, the suriving percentage of treatment group slowly and steadily decreased and reached to the level of 50% in the fourth year, and surprisingly, the figure gently increased at end of the graph span. In contrast, the non-treatment group observed a bigger decline to approximately 15%.
Looking at lymphosarcoma, both treatment and non-treatment group observed a dramatic fall, at approximately 40% in the first year after cancer diagnosis, despite treatment group had a slighly better figure. Since then, the surviving precentage within female patients who underwent treament continued to drop reaching zero. Meanwhile, without treatment, the figures had slower rate of declining and maintained the level of 20% between the third and the fifth year.
