Overall, it is clear that all three nations experienced a fluctuating trend in a fourteen years – period. More specifically, Italy remained relatively flat from 1991 to 2005. While Spain shrank dramatically, Germany surprisingly ascended at the end of the time in question.
Looking at the line graph more closely, one can see that, at the beginning, Spain, standing out with the highest jobless rates among the three nations, accounting for over 12 percent. The share of Spain continually increased until 1995, when it hit a peak of 18 percent, more than Germany and Italy combined. However, from 1995 to 2005, the proportion of unemployment of Spain fell considerably by 10 percent, became the country having the lowest unemployment rates. On the other hand, the share of Italy raised gradually by 10 percent between 1991 and 1999. Similar to Spain, Italy’s percentage decreased from 12 percent to 8 percent in 2005. Nevertheless, the share of Germany raised quickly to over 8 percent in 1997, almost doubled compared to 1991.
