The chart gives information about the number of men and women in thousands in 1970/71, 1980/81 and 1990/91 years in Britain. It shows weather they were studying in part-time of full-time education. Overall, the number male and female isn’t significantly differed in the third period while in the first it varies.
It is evident from the illustration that seventieth women didn’t tend to have full-time education as well as men. However, this figure rises from period to period, so in the last one about 500 students were occupied in full-time education. If we consider the number of students in part-time education then the figure of men fluctuates while the figure of female rises. At the end it reaches half and a thousand female students.
Comparing men and women we can see that in 1970 number of female students were significantly less than male students. This trend changed through years, so in 1990 the number of women in further education even exceeded the number of men.
