The line graph illustrates the use of oil in total of different consumers in the USA, China, Middle East, Western Europe and Japan between 2009 and 2030. Units are measured in million barrels.
Overall, it is clear that oil consumption in the USA, China, Western Europe and Japan will experience a downward trend over the period show, whereas the opposite will be true for the remaining country.
In 2009, the total oil usage in the USA was the highest, at approximately 9 million barrels, while the amount of oil that was used in Western Europe and Japan, China, Middle East were much lower, at 4 and 2 million barrels respectively. Later on that time, oil consumption in America and China slightly increased until the former reached its peak at 10 million barrels in 2015 and a projection of 4 million barrels in 2025 for the latter. However, the USA will drop from 10 to 8 million barrels in the next 10 years and remain steady in the last period, meanwhile, China will have a small decline to about 3.5 million barrels in 2030.
A similar trend was seen in the Middle East, which had a steady growth and is predicted to rise to 3 million barrels in 2030. In contrast, the daily numbers of barrels used by Western Europe & Japan were halved throughout the first 6 years and are projected to continue to go down to around 2 million in the last year.
