Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they cast doubt on the specific points made in the reading passage.
The article states that in our solar system there are large space objects that are made up of rock and ice are called asteroids and provides three reasons of support. However, the professor in the lecture refutes this argument considering it unconvincing and challenges all mentioned point in the reading passage.
Firstly, the reading avers that asteroids have low gravity because they are smaller than planet. The professor believes that there are flaws in the author's position and oppose the point by saying that besides the landing and take off of spacecraft, it will increase the risk if a person lives few months in the space ship suffer from many health diseases like loss of muscle mass and decrease in bone density. Thus, this point from lecture is faulty.
Secondly, the author of the passage claims that asteroids colony are rich in rare metals and best source to do business. In contrast, the lecturer rejects this point by indicating that if we consider an additional factor that sponsors invest all the cost to support the colonist to make money, but transportation cost will be higher which will decrease the profit. Moreover, increase in supply of material lower the price in the market. Therefore, this point in the lecture can be considered invalid.
Finally, the text outlines that asteroids are easy to reach for colonist. The professor says that this claim is problematic . He explains that it is not easy to return on earth although orbit of earth is closest because there is one time when earth meets Mars. Hence, this point from the text can not be supported by evidence.
It is quite visible that author and the lecturer hold different perspectives on asteroids.
