Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The diagram shows the stages through which a butterfly undergoes during its entire lifespan.
It is clear that there are four main stages in the life cycle of the butterfly, from eggs to adult butterfly.
At the first stage of the process, the female butterfly lays its eggs on the leaves of plants. The caterpillar, which is the butterfly larva, emerges after the eggs crack. In this stage of the larva, it eats the leaf on which it was born and starts growing and expanding before going to the next step.
During the third step of the cycle, the larva grows to its full length and weight, then it forms itself into the chrysalis. Within the chrysalis, the larva’s body undergoes a remarkable transformation to become a beautiful butterfly. Finally, after experiencing the change inside the cocoon, the larva reaches its full maturity and turns into the adult butterfly, tearing the cocoon to come out and the new life cycle starts again.
