The given table illustrates the different numbers of residents who traveled overseas in various locations within the 4 separate years: 1990, 1995, 2000 and 2005.
Overall, the total number of overseas travelers increased throughout the time. It is also noticeable that Europe is the continent with the most travelers, and the Middle East was the region with the fewest travelers.
In the year 1990, the residents traveling worldwide from Europe was more than half of the total number. America travelers stood on the second place, at 80.5 million. The number of travelers from Asia and the Pacific was in the third position, at over 60 million. African and Middle Eastern travelers were over 18 and under 10 million respectively.
In the 3 remaining years, the figures for travelers in all the regions rose dramatically. Europe still held the top position with over 400 million in the final year. The travelers from Middle East were at the lowest level, at only more than 15 million despite a steady rise over the years. American overseas tourists reached over 113 million although the number fell by 6 million after the third year. Africa and Asia and the Pacific experienced a stable growth to over 28 and over 135 million respectively.
