The given line graph illustrates the amount of commuters travelling daily by car, bus and train in the UK between 1970 to 2020.
Overall, what stands out from the chart is that there was an upward trend in the number of people travelling by car and bus, but a downward trend in that of train. In addition, the data of car was the highest.
Looking at the details, one of the fist things to note is that the amount of UK commuters travelling by car started at the highest point, that of bus and train were lower by 1970, at 5, 4 and 2 millions respectively. Over the next decade, the figures for all transport remained stable.
Between 1980 and 2000, the statistics of car went up significantly from 5 to 7 millions. By 2000, the amount of people travelling by train rose steadily while that of bus dropped slowly to 3 and 3.5 millions in order. In the last year, the data of car topped at around 8 millions, was higher than that of train 4 millions. Also the figures for bus hit a bottom at 3 millions.
