Overall, it can be observed that Norway stored the most amount of renewable energy than others, followed by Iceland, while Australia’s was the least in the three examined years. Iceland witnessed a relative stability in the total sustainable energy capacity over the seven-year period.
In 2000, the percentage of environmentally-sound energy with respect to the entire amount of produced energy in Norway was just over 60 %; while the corresponding generation for Australia was calculated to be roughly 8 %. In the following years, the Norwegians’ energy production experienced an upward trend to its highest level, at approximately 78 %; however the renewable energy storage capacity of Australia almost remained fairly static at about 10 % in 2004 and 2007.
In 2000, the total energy amount provided by means of sustainable energy generation in Iceland, at over 50%, was approximately 5 folds greater than Germany’s. From 2000 onwards, Iceland’s sustainable energy amount witnessed up-and-down trend and hit its highest point at roughly 60%, while the Germans’ renewable energy production saw a significant rise to the number of approximately 18 % by the end of 2007.
