The average household expenditures in Japan and Malaysia in the year 2010
The two pie charts illustrate the proportions of expenses for 5 different categories, which were spent by the Japanese and the Malaysians in 2010. Overall, it can be seen that while people in Japan spent the highest amount of money on other goods and services, the majority of Malaysian’s expenditure was housing.
To begin with, the Japanese spent most of their money, about 29%, on goods and services. However, only 6% of their income was used for health care. The other expenses were divided into three groups in the similar percentages for food, housing, and transport, about one fifth of the expenditures.
On the other hand, housing was the most expensive expense in Malaysia, at 34%. The amount of money spent on food was similar to that on other goods and services, approximately one fourth, whereas, only 10% was spent on transport. As well as in Japan, Malaysian health care received a little money in this country, at just 3%.
