The table compares the yearly mean expenses in total and in various categories of higher education students from three countries in 2007.
It is clear that among the three nations, undergraduates from country A spend the largest sum of money while those from country C pay the least. Additionally, a huge proportion of money is spent on accommodation and food.
Students from country A were the biggest spenders among the three, at $5000 on average, followed by $4500 expenditure by averagely one student from country B. The expenditures for student housing in both country A and B were proportionally highest, about 45% and 35% respectively. The figures for food and leisure activities in these two places were relatively considerable, each of which took up 20% to 30% of the total expenses.
In country C, every student spent only $1500 annually, which was significantly less than the other two nations. The largest proportion of expenditure here was for meals, accounting for 36% in total, marginally bigger than 30% for housing. While country A and B students spent so little on books (3% and 9% respectively), country C students used over 20% of their sum for learning materials. Leisure and other expenses took up insignificantly around 10%.
