The two maps illustrate how the waterfront area of Darwin town changed in the period from 2009 to 2014.
Overall, the waterfront area became greener over this 15-year period with the disappearance of industrial areas and the birth of more trees. Besides, some facilities for education, transportation and accommodation were constructed in 2014.
The most striking change was that all industrialized areas were knocked down. The town spent almost the northern part of the waterfront area on planting more trees and one new footpath was built across the green space. It leads to a brand new harbor which is used to serve maritime operations of the town.
We can also see that the authority expanded the living space for residents by adding three more buildings close to the olds. In addition, they established a new university in the west that formed more amenity for academy. Next to the lake to the west, a small swimming pool was erected right on the site an old industrial area used to be, while two old swimming pools, school, convention center and fishing area stayed unchanged.
