The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with projections until 2030.
The change in several energies consumed by Fuel in the USA from 1980 to 2030 is displayed in the line graph, shown in quadrillion units.
Overall, the non-renewable energy had been higher and is envisaged to use increasingly. Meanwhile, the renewable one could not exceed the counterpart, even in the future.
Initially, the consumption of petrol and oil had the highest number at 35 quadrillion units, followed by that of coal and natural gas one at 20 and approximately 15 quadrillion units, respectively. Furthermore, the renewable energy consumed by Americans shared the same number at below 5 quadrillion units.
Eventually, the figure for non-renewable resources usage is gaining the upward trend and will incline year-to-year to more than 25 quadrillion units, except the natural gas which will remain stable at that number. When it comes to the ecofriendly resources use, the USA remain to consume those less than the non-sustainable ones, and the number is expected to grow at below 10 quadrillion units, but the exception is hydropower, projected as similar number as the initial considerably.
