The diagram illustrates how an Australian town is collecting rainwater and further using it for drinking purposes. Overall, the whole process tells us about the treatment of rainwater using water filters and further removing chemicals making it suitable for daily consumption.
Initially, the rainwater which falls on the rooftop is collected by cylindrical pipes which are attached on one side of the house navigating its way down to a drain at the bottom . It is then directed towards a water filter system which removes major impurities and outlets the filtered water to a storage tank.
Going forward, the filtered water is then moved to a water treatment tank in which it is again processed to remove any remaining and infectious chemicals which still may reside and not visible to naked eyes. The treated water is then transferred using pipes and supplied to neighboring households where it can be used for drinking as well as daily consumption.
