The diagram demonstrates how West Park Secondary School has improved over a period of 60 years since its establishment in 1950. Overall, It can be seen clearly that the school had suffered significantly related to the space, the expansion of the school building, as well as the addition of a sports field and car park.
In 1950, the school had one building just right next to the series of houses. There was also a playground immediately behind the school and farmland located south-west of it. However, in 1980, the houses were demolished to build a car park. Moreover, the building was expanded into two parts, which are called the science block, car building and the main building.
About 30 years from 1980 to 2010, the most significant alteration to the school was the size of the playground, which had been reduced to make room for a new sports field, while the car park expanded. The school building remained the same place as before.
