The barchart represents the proportion of various kinds of accommodation selected during lay-days in 2010 by British people from 4 different regions, including England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
From the statistics, it can be inferred that hotel was the best choice for the British to stay in all parts of the UK. Whereas, there was a fluctuation in the percentage among 3 other accommodation types (caravanc camping and self-catering).
In the 2010s, the number of English making up their mind to stay at hotels accounted for the highest percentage and took up about 55%. In addition, Scotland ranked the second, at about 52%, which was followed by Wales and Northern Ireland, with 40% and 45% respectively.
Besides, self-catering was the second best choice among English, Scottish and Welsh. Nevertheless, it was less popular in Northern Ireland. Meanwhile, in Northern Ireland, over 30% of the population spent their holiday time on caravan, which was in preference to self-catering and camping. Specially, the proportion of holidaymakers in this nation staying in self-catering and camping witnessed the same rate, both around 12%.
