In the complex space of modern companies, managers need to boost efficiency and productivity to stay on top of the competitive market. Some believe that basing wages on producing and selling is the finest way to achieve this goal. To some extent, I agree with the issue. I, however, believe this method would be the best in some cases.
First of all, as we all are humans preparing for the living costs is pivotal to be done by every person. Thus, all employees work to earn money much more and, as the best reason, they engage in serious competition with their colleagues. Therefore, awareness about effective factors on their salary leads them to arrange their financial plan in a hardworking direction and consequently their output. Although, there are other factors like job satisfaction, working environment, etcetera that determine whether an employee could be motivated to work in an organization or not, but, money is the main determining factor.
On the opposite side, opponents believe that one of the most conspicuous facts is that, the performance of many employees cannot simply be quantified by the rate of sales or production. Moreover, a number of unexpected factors affect the worker’s performance. For instance, it is proved that the state of the economy, unexpected political issues, and even extreme weather conditions all have a significant impact on how much the employee sells or produces. Therefore, basing wages on how much sell or produce can demotivate workers in such cases thus, this method could not be appropriate. A hurricane, for example, can easily devastate a farm and all its products without its laborers being responsible for any of the damages or the ensuing drop in crop rates.
In conclusion, I think every individual manager could have the best choice and set the wages according to the occupational situation.
