The graphs below show the cinema attendance in Australia and the average cinema visits by different age groups from 1996 to 2000. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The given table sheds lights on the ratio of Australians who came to the theater during 1996-2000 along with their average visiting time, while the line graph gives an insight into the frequency of visiting of 4 different age groups in the same period.
As can be seen from the table, notwithstanding the upward trend in the number of theater visitors, their visiting frequency exhibited a downward pattern. And there were resemblances in the tendency of visiting cinema of people from distinct age groups.
When it coms to the table’s data, 62% of Australians went to the cinema in 1996, it then rose to 72% and stabilize for the rest of the period, except for a slight drop to 70% in 1999. In contrast, Australians’ average visits witnessed a remarkable decrease, from 10.3 in 1996 to just 8.3 in 2000.
Considering the figures of the line graph, it is noteworthy that the younger the citizens were, the more times they came to the theater, with those from 14-24 years old took the first position at around 15-23 times. Interestingly, the data for all age groups were in the similar tendency, they all went through significant fluctuation during the 4-year period, with modest rise in 1997 prior to a fall in 1998, they were then grew again and culminated with slightly higher figures compared to their starting points.
