The given line graphs represent information about the proportion of households using basic electrical devices including washing machines, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners and how long people do household work on a weekly basis between 1920 and 2019.
Overall, the number of houses had appliance increase throughout the mentioned period. However, there was a decline in the amount of time people spend on doing housework.
In 1920, most of the family did not have refrigerator but this percentage increased to 90% in 1960 and was the highest proportion among the three devices. There was the same in the percentage of households using washing machines and vacuum cleaners in 1960. The number of families used washing machine went down in 1980 at around 65% and then increased to 75% in 2019. In addition, in 1980, every household had their own refrigerators and in 2000, 100% of families used vacuum cleaners and they remained till 2019.
Between 1920 and 1960, the number of hours that people spent on household works decreased remarkably, from 50 hours to just only 20 hours per week. The number continued reducing and stood at around 10 hours per week in 2019.
