The two charts give information about research on people using libraries in 2012. Overall, the charts have shown three main groups of users as well as their purposes for using libraries.
In the table, the youngest users, aged from 16 to 17, contributed to having used the library at a rate of 72%, which can be seen as the highest rate of the two others. In addition, roughly 43% of this group also got help from librarians, in comparison to about 27% of users aged 18 to 24 years old. Also, 74% of the oldest users of this survey think that the library is crucial, while just over half of the youngest group think so.
The rates of library use also illustrate the differences among the three groups. About 55% of teenage users used libraries for research and a half for borrowing books. Meanwhile, just roughly 45% and 38% of the middle group use libraries for research and book-borrowing, respectively. The oldest group seems to be the least active since just under one-third of them went to libraries to borrow newspapers, as their rates in the two categories seemed slightly lower.
