The line graph compares the medium monthly wage of Japanese and the prices of black and white, and color TV over a period of 30 years.
It is noticeable that the mean salary of Japanese every month went up significantly, whereas the television prices experienced a dramatic plunge between 1953 and 1953. Moreover, the cost of two kinds of TV were higher than that of Japanese salary in one month from 1970 to 1990.
In 1970, the price of black and white TV was sold for 110 thousand yen, which was the highest figure. However, that of black and white TV decreased significantly over 10 years, from 110 thousand yen to 40 thousand yen. The price of this type of TV gradually fell at 20 thousand yen in 2000, which was smaller than that of color TV, at about 45 thousand yen. Although the price of this means of entertainment was a hundred thousand yen when it first appeared in 1950, it declined to only a half at the end of the period.
At the begining of period, Japanese people only earned approximately 18 thousand yen once a month. This number continued to increase rapidly by 50 thousand yen between 1980 and 2000, at around 70 thousand yen.
