Dear Mathew,
I have been looking forward to visit you in Canada, but it would not be possible for me to travel on the 1st of June 2022 anymore. There is an important event I am going to attend, so coming over wouldn’t work during this period.
The event in question is my seminar defense and degree examination. It came as a shock to everyone, due to the impromptu information. The strike which was just called off contributed to this change in time-table. Studying starts immediately!
I want to apologize for the disappointment this might have caused. The government does not care about education! Plans were made, yet the unforeseen circumstances interrupted everything. I promise to make it up to you when I come over to visit you, because you will do the same if you were in my shoes.
Finally, I’d suggest that my trip to Canada should be in the summer, as it would be the best time for students to go on vacation. How about the Christmas holidays? Or, we can just leave it till I’m done with my clearance next year.
Take care,
Adam.
