Overall, the fuel used in the transport sector in Slovakia and Spain tends to decrease. In contrast, this rate tends to increase in Italy and France. Besides, the average fuel consumption rate in the EU is higher than in all countries except Slovakia.
During this period, Slovakia's use of fuel in the transport sector was highest at 8,9% in 2009, but decreased by about 6,5% in 2010. In Italy, the rate of using raw materials is lower than Slovakia at about 4.4% in 2009 but increased 0,7% in 2010. In addition, this percentage in France is also lower than the previous two nations, reaching about 3,8% and increasing at 4,2%. In contrast, in Australia the rate of material usage leveled out between 2009 and 2010. For Spain, in 2009 the rate was increased by 3,9% but decreased by exactly 3%. On top of that, this rate in Greece is the lowest in this period, it reached at 1,1% in 2009 and went up at 2% in 2010. In 2009, the EU average reached the second highest rate after Slovakia, which reached 6% in 2009 and decreased 1% the following year.
