Initially, people ate vegetables the most, at more than 140 kg per person per year, meat and fruit counterparts were significantly lower, at about 109 kg and 80 kg, respectively. From 1950 to 1990, the amount of vegetables, fruit and meat consumed fluctuated wildly, then became nearly the same in 1990, at about 115 kg. The figure for green food then witnessed a noticeable climb, reached the peak at 160kg for vegetables, while the meat decreased sharply.
The bread and seafood were less consumed than the others. The consumption of bread started at 40kg per person per year, then experienced a remarkable growth in 1970. Then, the figure for bread declined gradually before a rebound was observed in 2010. Meanwhile, seafood consumption stabilized at 20kg per person per year throughout the period.
