The table below gives information about the problems faced by children in two primary schools in 2005 and 2015.
The table compares two distinct primary schools in terms of the proportions of seven different educational problems that children struggled in the years 2005 and 2015.
It is noticeable that school A had larger proportions of pupils who experienced all seven education difficulties in both years. While school A managed to reduce the number of pupils struggling these problems, school B tended to increase the incidence of these difficulties.
In 2005, 42% of school A’s pupils found it difficult to follow instructions, while the figure for school B stood at only 6%. The proportions of children of school A who faced difficulties in spelling, listening, verbal expression, and concentration in lessons were from 30% to 40%, the equivalent figures of these problems in school B stood at between 5 and 15%.
In 2015, the differences between two schools were less pronounced. Noticeably, school A reduced the number of pupils struggling with following instructions by 24%, and the figures for concentration in lessons, listening, verbal expression, and spelling decreased by 22%, 15%, 14%, and 5% respectively. Whereas school B saw significant increases in the proportion of children with spelling and concentration in lessons, to 10% and 12%. The other educational problems appear not to change in both schools.
