The graph below shows the average closing prices of selected precious metals from 2013 to 2021. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graph indicated the average closing prices of three distinctly valuable elements, included gold, platinum and palladium from 2010 and 2017.

Overall, gold and platinum metals showed quite steady prices, and drop a little bit among the period. However, by extremely increasing values, palladium’s prices overcame the two categories and outdistanced its initial value.

First of all, both gold and platinum metals costed approximately 1500 dollars per oz in 2013. Between the 2014 and 2019 period, gold’s prices remained steady, accounting for about 1250 dollars per oz. Despite a slightly increased in 2019, it continually plateaued for the next 2 years. On the other side, platinum’s cost decreased to 1000 dollars in the 2015 year and fluctuated around that price until 2021.

However, palladium metal experienced better trends. With significant uptrend, it outdistanced the two categories at the end of the period. Starting from 2013, the values fluctuated around 750 dollars per oz until 2016. Then palladium’s values were unstoppable rose and reaching the highest price by costing just nearly 2500 dollars in 2021, which was the highest of any categories.
