The diagrams below show the life cycle of a species of large fish called the salmon.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The diagram illustrates the life process of salmon.
In general, the wheel of life of the salmon begins since they are still eggs to fully grown-up salmon, which includes four main stages.
Adult salmon slowly move to the upper river until they find some reeds surrounded by the small stones, that is where the salmon eggs are born. It takes the course of five to six months for the eggs to hatch and become fry. Normally, the size of the fry will be approximately three to eight centimeters. At this point of the process, fry move to and live at the lower river, where the flow is typically faster. After four years, fry turns into smolt.
A typical smolt length ranges from 12 to 15 centimeters. They have a tendency to live in the open sea before growing into adult salmon, and that period lasts about five years, in which the size of the smolt can extend to their extremity, which is up to approximately 70 or 76 centimeters. As adult salmon, they tend to swim back to the upper river and a new cycle begins.
