Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The given map illustrates the ground layout of a public library 20 years ago and how it is organized at present.
Overall, there are some new changes in the floor plan with the appearance of the reference book room, computer room as well as café, and the disappearance of the sets of tables and chairs and technological entertainment zone. It is also noticeable that there is the relocation of the adult fiction reading materials.
In the past, the ground floor was quite simple. It contained 2 tables and some surrounding chairs in the center. There were 3 separate zones on each side of the library. On the left, there was a section for adult fiction materials, and a room for CDs, videos and games above it. Below it was a chamber for printed media. On the right, there was a section for adult non-fiction materials, and a room for children’s books above it. Below it was a desk of enquiry.
At the moment, the public library has experienced massive changes. On the left, there is a new section for children’s fiction materials equipped with some sofas and dedicated to storytelling events. Right below this room is a zone for all reference books. Below it was a new computer room for various purposes. On the top right corner, there is a lecture room. There are some novel self-service machines and a café below this room. The tables and chairs in the middle have been removed for more space. The room for technological entertainment on the left and the zones for children’s books and adult non-fiction materials on the right have been closed. The adult fiction book section and information desk have been moved to the middle right spot. The only component which remains unchanged is the main entrain.
