Lack of fresh water is becoming a global issue of increasing importance. What problems does the shortage of fresh water cause? What measures could be taken to overcome these problems?
The worldwide water scarcity has increasingly become a vital phenomenon which causing various multifaceted challenges related to marine ecological ramifications and human populations. Therefore, to combat these potential difficulties, sustainable water management, strict-launched regulations, and an increase in inhabitant’s awareness will be suggested in this essay to mitigate the insufficiency of fresh water.
To begin with, the deficiency of clean water engenders the marine ecological imbalance. Insufficient water sources have potential negative impacts on the marine life’s balance, which leading to the shortage of biodiversity and generating the brink of extinction in aquatic species. To illustrate, several oceanic species have to settle down to other dimensions to survive, forcing them to change their original habitat, leading to the ecological imbalance, and numerous deaths of marine life. Furthermore, the deficiency of clean water poses significant threats to communal health. In fact, deficit water access jeopardizes various waterborne diseases such as cholera. For instance, several regions, namely, Africa or several impoverished areas in India, are still relying heavily on contaminated water flow, which explains why numerous deaths caused by waterborne epidemics occur.
However, by implementing strict governmental rules, adopting sustainable water treatment plants, and raising public awareness can tackle these above-severe consequences. Firstly, the government should pay more attention and impose regulations on several situations such as disposing of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in fresh water to protect the water environment. Additionally, nations should access effective water treatment plants such as water purification plants or wastewater recycling to not only maintain the water source supply but also prevent the disposal of wastewater from freshwater flow. Ultimately, inhabitants should also enhance their awareness about water conservation as reducing water consumption and utilizing water-efficient appliances to mitigate water inadequacy.
To sum up, the shortage of clean water triggers various challenges for both developing and developed countries, namely, the imbalance of ecosystems and detrimental diseases for humans. Nevertheless, the strict implementation of national regulations concerning water protection, the improvement of individuals’ awareness, and the application of effective water management practices play a significant role in the constraint of water scarcity.
