The graph below gives information about car ownership in Britain from 1971 to 2007. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graph illustrates the percentage of car ownership in the UK from 1971 to 2007.
What stands out from the graph is that while the percentage of households without a car in Great Britain experienced a significant decline, the figures for those owning two or more cars surged over the 36-year period. In addition, households with regular use of a car remained stable, while those with three or more cars consistently represented the lowest proportion during the mentioned period.
Starting at the highest point in 1971, nearly 50% of families in Britain possessed no car at all, before experiencing a significant drop to just over 25% by the end of the period. One-car owners ranked second in the country at approximately 45% at the beginning. After some fluctuations, this figure remained nearly unchanged in 2007. However, it became the most popular trend in the UK during these years.
Finally, the two remaining categories of households with two or more cars, which accounted for only under 10% in 1971, showed upward trends throughout the 36-year period. The number of families with two cars, starting at around 8% in the initial year, witnessed relative progress, eventually overtaking that of no-car users to rank second at about 27% in 2007. Households with three or more cars saw a gradual increase from about 2% to around 6%, representing the lowest figure among the four categories over the same period.
