We can see from the data below that the percentage of total world oil resources in different areas is not the same with the proportion of annual oil consumption.
Furthermore, where the oil resources are higher the oil consumption is low and vice-verse. For example, Middle East. The percentage of oil resources in this area is 56,52%, whereas the amount of oil consumption is 6,15%. The same picture is for those countries like Canada, Africa. As it was mentioned, for other countries like Central and South America, Asia, United States, Western Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and others the data is inverted. For instance, the obvious difference was in Asia, where the percentage of oil resource is 2,89% and proportion of oil consumption is 26,21%. The only area, which showed unnoticeable difference is Eastern Europe.
Overall, percentage of oil resources to the oil consumption's have an inverse proportion.
