Some students prefer classes with open discussions between the professor and students and almost no lectures. Other students prefer classes with lectures and almost no discussions. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Being in school is a very important part of each person. Children learn many things in school. Thus, the way that teachers teach them is really important to be in a way that they can learn and remember everything. Some students prefer to be in a class that there is an open discussion between professor and students; others would disagree. In my view, it is best that there are lectures and almost no discussion for two reasons.
The main reason os that when teacher lecture his idea and there is no discussion, everyone can focus on the subject. Being focused help the students to get the idea and learn faster. In this way, the teacher knows that how to manage the time to teach everything and also no one gets confused about the lecture. For example, I remember that I when I was in elementary school, our teacher got sick and she could not present in the school for almost ten days. Thus, in that days, they send us a teacher who give us the subject and ask the students to discuss it. It was awful because after about 10 minutes the subject was completely disappeared and the students had talked about something else. As you can see, when the teacher gives lectures, s/he knows that how to manage that and what should s/he says and students can remain focused on the subject.
Another reason is that when the teacher lectures lessons, all the students can use the class and there is no difference between them. In this way, all the student can ask their questions and there is no difference between them. For instance, I was really shy in my childhood. I could barely talk with other students in the class. In that time that our teacher was sick and the new teacher asked us to talk about the subject, I just tried to be silent and when the teacher asked about my opinion, I just said that I had nothing to talk about and the teacher got angry with me and after that I could not focus on other students lectures because I felt depressed and stressed. This experience taught me that it is better that the teacher talks and the students listen and just ask their questions if they have any.
In sum, the most preferable classes are the ones that the teacher gives lectures. Not only the students can focus on the main subject and learn more, but also they have a chance to ask their questions and give their idea if they think different. We should all understand the effectiveness of the lecture-based courses
